Paint Overspray on Windows and Trim: Why Pressure Washing Can’t Fix It
If a roof or siding was recently painted, overspray on nearby glass and trim needs a different kind of removal entirely.
Why Washing Doesn’t Touch It
Paint overspray bonds to glass and trim in a way that’s fundamentally different from dirt, algae, or mildew. Water and standard cleaning solution simply aren’t formulated to break down cured paint, regardless of pressure level.
What Actually Removes It
Overspray removal typically requires a solvent or razor-blade technique appropriate for the surface — glass can often be carefully scraped, while painted trim usually needs a different, more targeted approach.
Why We Flag This Before Starting a Job
If we notice overspray during an estimate, we’ll tell you directly that it’s outside what a standard wash will resolve, rather than let you assume it’ll come off and be disappointed with the result.
